Requirements

Education

• Secondary School Certificate (SSC) or equivalent.
• Completion of a professional driver training program or certification is a strong advantage.

Experience/Skills

• Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a professional bus driver or heavy-duty vehicle driver.
• Must possess a valid Nigerian Class "E" Driver's License.
• Clean driving record with no history of major accidents or traffic violations.
• Excellent knowledge of Nigerian road safety regulations and traffic laws.
• Familiarity with inter-city routes and major highways.

Additional Requirements

• Must be medically fit to drive
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be willing to undergo pre-employment and random drug/alcohol screening.
• Must be at least 25 years of age (for insurance purposes).

Required Competence

• High level of responsibility, punctuality, and reliability.
• Strong customer service skills with a polite and professional demeanor.
• Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure, especially in heavy traffic.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities & Context

• Safely operate the company bus on assigned routes, adhering strictly to the schedule.
• Ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers at all times.
• Conduct mandatory pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle (tires, brakes, oil, etc.).
• Report any vehicle malfunctions, delays, or incidents to the dispatcher immediately.
• Assist passengers with luggage and provide excellent customer service.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the bus interior.
